Fitzgerald High School

Kindergarten

“Discover, Experience, Learn!”

Thank you for your interest in Fitzgerald Public Schools! Kindergarten is one of the most critical years in a child’s development, and families who enroll in our district are setting up their students for success. We’re thrilled to welcome families who are taking this exciting next step in their child’s education.

Fitzgerald Public Schools are now enrolling children who are eligible to begin kindergarten this fall. The district offers full-day kindergarten at Schofield Early Childhood Center, located at 21555 Warner.

Students who are 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2017 are eligible to start kindergarten in fall 2017. Families with a child who turns 5 after that date but before Dec. 1, 2017 may enroll their child in kindergarten after speaking with the principal of the school.

Registration is now available online . Families with questions may call the main office at Schofield at (586) 757-5150.

We’re excited to welcome a new group of kindergartners this fall, and we’re looking forward to what the future holds for the future high school class of 2030!

About Kindergarten

The kindergarten curriculum actively engages children in age-appropriate, hands-on learning experiences that build on the strengths, interests and needs of the individual child. It provides experiences that will help each child’s academic, social and emotional development. Each child will learn responsibility and develop decision-making skills to help them become self-reliant and independent in a safe and nurturing environment.

School Age Childcare, a before- and after-school care program, is available for district elementary school students.
