Early Childhood Center’s Teacher of the Year – Mrs. Sara Brass
The Early Childhood Center is fortunate to have Mrs. Brass as our Early Childhood Special Education teacher. She has worked with all ages of children, however, preschoolers have a special place in her heart. Each day, her children step down from the bus to smiles. Mrs. Brass greets each by name and comments positively to each student. She believes preschool is the beginning of what can become a successful learning adventure. She is an advocate for all children, seeing the potential in every child. On behalf of the Early Childhood Center staff – Congratulations Mrs. Brass!
On October 22nd, the Fitzgerald Early Childhood Center hosted their first “Literacy Day” based on the bestselling children’s book, Brown Bear Brown What Do You See by Eric Carle. Literacy days are designed for the parents to experience their child’s preschool day with them through literacy rich experiences. Each child was also given a Brown Bear Brown Bear book of their own to retell the story to their families at home.
MERRY MUSIC MAKER VISITS PRESCHOOL
Our preschool families celebrated Halloween at our evening event; Preschool Pumpkinfest. Everyone enjoyed pizza and lemonade and music time with the Merry Music Maker. After dancing and singing, the children went trick or treating through the school hallways. Everyone had a spooktacular time!
Make Believe Play
Children in Mrs. Salter’s class decided to have a birthday party! They made birthday crowns, had cake with candles and invited many friends, even babies! Before they pretended to blow out the candles, they sang Happy Birthday!
