2017 Kindergarten Open House
Fitzgerald’s Annual Kindergarten Open House will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Westview Elementary.
Westview Opening Day
September brings Labor Day, crisp apples and a new school year. At Westview we were all in our places with bright shiny faces. Teachers finished last minute details getting their classroom ready to invite their new students. Students in their new school clothes met new and old friends.
Standing by the front door Principal Denise Kluck greeted everyone as they arrived. From the smallest kindergartener with wide eyes to the fifth graders who are now the top dogs, everyone was ready to go.
For the 2011-2012 school year Westview achieved Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). This status indicates that the teachers, staff and students at Westview worked hard, made advances and performed well on the state test, the MEAP. This year everyone at Westview will continue on this path to high achievement.
Open house/curriculum night is Tuesday, September 11th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All parents and students are encouraged to attend, there is a lot of new information for everyone and it’s always fun to meet the teacher.
This is also the time of year to join our parent group, PEP. The parents on this committee do many projects during the year, support the teacher and student in many ways. It’s a great way to be involved in your child’s education.
Westview Student Council
Westview Student Council participated in Socktober this year! This is a program to help the homeless in our area. Students collected basic essentials that a person may need; socks, toothbrush, deodorant, a comb or a brush. All items collected were taken to our local Salvation Army on Mound Road.
