School of Choice

MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

Fitzgerald Public Schools is honored to have the opportunity to expand our district’s very successful Schools of Choice Program for the 2024-2025 school year.  As you are well aware, FPS prides itself on helping our students achieve in the classroom and beyond.  As stated in our mission:

Fitzgerald Public Schools…inspiring, empowering and preparing today’s learner to become tomorrow’s leader.

As superintendent, I encourage you to explore the wonderful opportunities that exist for your child’s future here in Fitzgerald Public Schools.  With great pride, I would like to share the accomplishments of our students and staff.  Fitzgerald High School has twice earned Reward School Status as designated by the Michigan Department of Education.  FHS is also recognized for achieving consecutive years of continued growth in all areas on the State of Michigan Assessments as well as earning a place on the prestigious AP Honor Roll through College Board.  Our elementary and middle school programs continuously earn high rankings for student success in multiple academic areas.

At Fitzgerald Public Schools, we take pride in creating a bright future for our students.  Our staff members are deeply committed to using the best educational practices and the latest technology to make sure our students are college- and career-ready when they graduate.  We provide this high-quality education in a supportive, welcoming environment that makes Fitzgerald feel like home from the first day.  We really are a family, and we are excited to share with the community what makes Fitzgerald Public Schools so special!

Our district’s school buildings are equipped with state of the art instructional technology for staff and students to excel in learning opportunities.  Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, the district began with an ambitious student instruction technology plan that equipped every student in the district with a personal learning device throughout the school day.  FPS prides our self on creating and maintaining the safest and most advanced educational environment possible to ensure that all students, families, and staff are comfortable and prepared to succeed.

These accomplishments are the result of a strong partnership between our families, the district and the community.  Our Board of Education, administrative team and staff are dedicated to supporting student success in school and preparing each student for success beyond graduation.

With Fitz Pride,

Hollie Stange, Superintendent
