Art Club  Ryanne Lumetta Art club is a bi-monthly after school group that focuses on art beyond the classroom. We explore new techniques and media for those interested in more advanced art education and art as a college choice.
Drama Club Rebecca Mulligan Drama Club is designed for students interested in learning more about the aspects of theater. This includes acting, working on  sets, choreography, and costumes/makeup design. Everyone is welcome to join! 
Freshman Council Regina Miller Freshman can get involved in class council to raise money and plan activities that support the class of 2026.
Generation of Promise  Angela Gilchrist A small group of juniors are selected to participate in leadership and diversity field trips across Metro Detroit. This program is a collaboration with Focus Hope and 14 other school districts. A weekend retreat in August is mandatory. Students will also miss 1 Wednesday per month during the school year to attend all day (7:45-3pm) field trips.
HOSA Nikki Kono HOSA’s two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.
Junior Council Katie VanGorder Junior Council is the 10th grade division of the Student Government. We meet weekly  to plan and organize school activities, including the Homecoming dance, Prom, fundraisers, and other events to promote school spirit and engage the Fitzgerald community. Once a month we meet with the General Student Government body to collaborate.
Model United Nations  Jennifer Crotty  Model United Nations – MUN – is a debate team in which students receive a country and topic assignment and simulate the real UN. Students will research, learn how debate rooms operate, give speeches detailing their country’s positions and offer possible solutions. There is no right/wrong, but rather the understanding that countries must work together to find solutions. We attend multiple one-day conferences.
Multicultural Club Katie VanGorder The Multicultural Club is a group of students who want to learn about different cultures and countries from around the world. We meet once a month to discuss the history, culture, food, music and clothing for the chosen country. 
National Honor Society Lisa Chomicz NHS Fitzgerald is the local chapter of this national organization of students who exhibit good character, scholarship, leadership and service. We participate in group community service projects, leadership and team-building activities. You are eligible to apply in your junior or senior year.
Recycling Club Kathy McDonald Recycling Club is a weekly club that meets to help reduce the waste materials in landfills, improve FHS’ carbon footprint and offer a way to earn community service. 
Robotics Team Rob Meier The award-winning FHS Robotics Team designs, builds, and programs a large robot to compete in the First Robotics Competition. This after school team runs in conjunction with the Principles of Coding class and the Principles of Engineering Class offered in the FHS Curriculum. 
SKILLS USA Steve Hazard  SkillsUSA empowers its members to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens. SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. 
Senior Council  Brian Michael Senior Council is the 12th grade division of the Student Government. We meet weekly  to plan and organize all senior events plus community-wide events such as Homecoming and Senior Citizen Prom. We are vital to making sure that seniors have everything they need to enjoy the year and graduate. Once a month we meet with the General Student Government body to collaborate.

Student Government is the governing body over all class councils. Members are selected through a thorough application process. Elections for both Student Government and Class Councils are conducted the previous May for the upcoming school year. Student Government meets on a monthly basis, with Class Councils meeting weekly to plan and organize school activities, including Homecoming, fundraisers, and other events to promote school spirit and engage the Fitzgerald community.
Urban Garden  Kathy McDonald Students have the opportunity to learn about plants, vegetables and gardening skills while providing a service to the school community with fresh vegetables, fruits and gardens that support animals and plants.
WSU C2 Pipeline Abby Basner We are a college and career readiness program funded by the Michigan Department of Education through the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. Our mission is to utilize hands-on project-based learning to engage students with a wide variety of career interests mostly in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. C2 Pipeline is in 21 schools around Metro Detroit. We have lots of fun and go on many field trips throughout the school year. We also have many summer camp opportunities at WSU free of charge!
